The two-time reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers are currently at the top of the MLB standings with a 65-38 record.
With this, there is no question that they are will be buyers at the 2026 MLB trade deadline.
The Dodgers are never afraid of making big moves, and it is why they have had so much success in recent years. Because of this, it would not be surprising if they make at least one splash by the deadline.
One area that the Dodgers could look to improve is their infield. Because of this, they are now being viewed as a potential landing spot for one of this year’s top trade candidates.
In a recent article for ESPN, Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan named the Dodgers among the trade fits for San Francisco Giants star infielder Luis Arraez.
“Teams also understand how valuable putting the ball in play can be in the postseason, and nobody is better at that than Arraez, who is going to lead MLB in strikeout rate for the fifth consecutive season,” they wrote. “Best fits: Rays, Nationals, Dodgers, Yankees, Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Guardians, Pirates.”
With Arraez being an elite contact hitter who can play multiple positions, he would be a great player for the Dodgers to add to their roster. He would give them another impactful option to work with for the top of their lineup because of how well he makes contact.
Arraez is very likely to be traded ahead of the deadline. This is because he is a pending free agent, and the Giants are well out of the playoff race. Because of this, it would make all the sense in the world for the Dodgers to make a real run for him.
In 96 games this season with the Giants, Arraez has four home runs, 37 RBI, and an impressive .320 batting average. With numbers like these, he would be a nice pickup for the Dodgers, and it will be interesting to see if they target him from here.
